The Junior League of Tacoma is an organization of more than
300 women.
The League is committed to promoting voluntarism, developing
the potential of women and improving the community through the
effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
The League continues to join with community partners to address
literacy issues through programs and education.
The League staffs its projects with the most dependable, well-trained
volunteers in the community.
Focusing on critical needs, the League identifies community
problems, develops projects to solve them, and through the work
of trained volunteers, successfully implements programs that
directly benefit residents of Pierce County.
The League's purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Founded in 1921, it has remained a leader in the effort to address
community concerns through volunteers, particularly in the areas
of literacy, child welfare, education and cultural activities.
