09 Oct Summit on Youth Homelessness
The Junior League of Tacoma is seeking your help to address youth experiencing homelessness in Pierce County, which has reached a critical stage. Today, Pierce County Community Connections estimates that 3,000 youth are homeless or at risk of being homeless. One thousand of these youth are under 18 years old. To support this cause the Junior League has adopted youth experiencing homelessness as their main cause. Our platform’s goal is that youth experiencing homelessness will have the capacity for self-sufficiency.
To advocate and provide awareness for youth experiencing homelessness in our community, the Junior League of Tacoma is hosting the 4th Annual Summit on Youth Homelessness and Poverty Immersion Workshop. This will include a community panel discussion involving our local community leaders followed by a Poverty Immersion Workshop hosted by Martha Aitken, WSU Metropolitan Center for Applied Research and Extension
